The aim of automation solutions is to relieve operators in the laboratory of time-consuming and repetitive work steps, thus freeing up resources for those activities that increase an organization's ability to innovate. Two parallel workflows show how this can be implemented cost-effectively with existing equipment.
First, it is demonstrated how the calibration of a balance can be carried out fully automatically without laboratory technicians having to deal with the execution and documentation of calibration. The calibration is performed automatically at a calibration station with a balance that can be docked there as a mobile unit. In parallel, a chemical reaction is carried out in an automated reactor, which is assembled from equipment found in every laboratory and controlled by the LABOPERATOR software.
All measurements and results are automatically stored and transferred to the electronic laboratory book LABFOLDER.
In this way, effective automation solutions can be established in every laboratory with the lowest possible investment.
