Lecture Halle B2 Digitale Transformation - Smart Lab

11:30-12:00 h | Hall B2 Booth B2.431

The path to a Digital Lab and the accompanying transformation is the latest approach to optimize the famous lab efficiency triangle of turnaround time, quality, and costs. The quest towards a paperless lab over the last 20 years was very often compromised by a reality check when it came to actual implementation projects. This presentation will discuss approaches and prerequisites toward digitizing the lab operation. How do we find the sweet spot between aspirations, the heterogenous lab environments, tangible approaches and sustainable outcomes during this journey?

Subjects: Software | Pharma & Diagnostics | Test and Measurement and Quality Control | Laboratory Technology | Informations and Services | Digital Transformation / Laboratory 4.0 | Automatisierung | Analysis

Speaker: Dr. Thomas Schmidt (Agilent Technologies)

Type: Lecture

Speech: English

The promises of the Digital Lab are tempting, the way to get there seems sometimes scary. So let's take a step back. Eventually, you want to achieve a higher efficiency.  The Digital Lab is not a goal but just a means to an end. Start with most pressing day-to-day problems. Could standardization of data formats, closing electronic gaps between information systems and instruments, or bringing all your data into one place contribute to resolve some of the most pressing issues? The good news is that you can start today. It's just about implementation and not waiting for innovation.
