"After
a weak customer response at other events over the past 12 months, analytica
2010 met the hopes and expectations of industry representatives. BD Biosciences
and the European premiere of the BD FACSAria III cell sorter underscore the
importance of analytica 2010. BD is also planning to expand its trade-fair
activities at the attractive Munich Trade Fair Centre again in
2012."
Daniel Spatz, Marketing Manager DACH, Becton Dickinson Biosciences
"Going into this year's fair, some people may have been somewhat skeptical
about how the laboratory-technology, analysis and biotechnology sector has been
changed by the economic crisis and what affect that would have on activities at
the trade fair analytica. However, there were no sights of restraint: the halls
were bustling with activity, and this year the biotechnology sector was a
genuine highlight – and deservedly so. I may have gotten the wrong impression,
but I have never seen such as active, bustling analytica. For me, this is an
excellent sign that the life-science industry is alive and well."
Prof. Horst Domdey, Spokesman for the Bavarian Biotechnology Cluster and
Managing Director of BioM
"The visitors at GE Healthcare's stand during analytica 2010 are much more
optimistic this spring, and many of the investment plans that were put on ice
as a result of economic uncertainty in 2009 are being seriously reconsidered at
this time. This was reflected by the increased number of inquiries concerning
concrete projects. GE Healthcare's new ImageQuant LAS and Typhoon FLA systems
for image-based, quantitative data documentation in biochemical analyses and
the new ÄKTA chromatography system for quicker, more reliable methods
development in particular have generated a great deal of interest. Visitors at
the GE Healthcare stand included a number of users from the pharmaceuticals
industry, the biotechnology sector and research institutes. The industry's
optimism was reflected by the approximately 30-percent share of foreign
visitors at the stands. Besides cultivating existing business ties, we
surpassed our goal of establishing new business ties."
Michael Kaleja, Marketing Manager Research Sciences, Central Zone &
Export, GE Healthcare
"Attendance at this year's analytica Conference increased by a good five
percent to 1,197 visitors. The synergies that the scientific conference
benefits from because it is held at the same time as the trade fair have
convinced our scientific participants and speakers from Germany and abroad. For
them, the conference is the most important analysis platform in Europe, a key
forum for a necessary and profitable dialog for everyone involved."
Renate Kießling, Conference Manager analytica Conference, Gesellschaft
Deutscher Chemiker
"Things got off to a slow start on Tuesday morning, but after that,
analytica 2010 developed into a satisfying trade fair for us. Above all, we had
several competent trade visitors from the laboratory sector, i.e. people who
use products themselves, at the Greiner Bio-One stand. This year's analytica
proved yet again that it is an important trade fair for the industry and has
technically versed visitors from around the world.
Wilhelm Siebertz, Director Sales Germany, Greiner Bio-One GmbH,
Frickenhausen
"This is our first year at analytica, and we are participating in a joint

reason to return again in 2012."
Dr. Detlef Terzenbach, Technologie Hessen-Biotech, HA Hessen Agentur GmbH
"As an innovative company and long-term exhibitor, we appreciate
analytica, especially as a platform for presenting new products. During the
past few days, we have welcomed more than twice as many visitors to our stand
as at the last analytica in 2008. We will definitely be here in 2012, because
the quantity and quality of the customers at analytica is extraordinarily
satisfying."
Joachim Gerstel, President & CEO, joint analytical SYSTEMS GmbH
"METROHM Deutschland has been part of this fair since the first analytica
in 1968. That one demonstrates how important this fair is to us and the
industry – it is the leading trade show for analysis technology. One of this
year's noticeable trends was the considerable increase in the number of
international visitors compared to previous years."
Dr.
Hans-Jürgen Knabe, Managing Director, Deutsche METROHM GmbH & Co. KG
"analytica 2010 met our expectations completely. We had more leads than
the last time that the fair was held in 2008, including plenty of concrete
inquiries. Therefore, we are very optimistic about our post-fair
business."
Günter Heller, Director of Sales Professional South, Miele & Cie. KG

very well received by customers.”
Greg Hoff, Media Relations Manager, Bioscience Division, Millipore

"We introduced our new GS Junior bench-top system at analytica, and it met
generated a great deal of interest. 240 visitors from all of Europe attended
our presentation. The response to our xCELLigence RTCA HT Instrument
cell-analysis system, which was on display for the first time ever and goes to
market this autumn, was also extremely positive, especially among customers in
industrial sector."
Dr. Bodo Eickhoff, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Applied
Science Germany, Roche Diagnostics GmbH
"We mostly use analytica to introduce new products. We introduced our new
LC 30A Nexera UHPLC system for the first time ever at analytica 2010. The
response was great, and we had several new visitors at the stand, including
some international ones. All in all we had more leads than in 2008, so we
expect post-fair business to be very promising."
Jürgen Semmler, Managing Director, Shimadzu Deutschland GmbH

fairs are one of our most important marketing instruments. They allow us to
explain our ideas in a direct exchange with our customers. analytica is without
a doubt an important trade fair for us. We have held a number of extremely
valuable discussions over the past few days, and we are extremely pleased with
the number of visitors at our stand. The organization and support from the

each time."
